Temo, 21 (Georgia) participated in our Erasmus+ Youth Exchange held in Osijek from 3rd to 12th September. After some time we asked Temo to share his favorite memories and also tell us something about this particular YE but also about himself.
Temo says: „Be yourself in every situation no matter what, it will pay off.“
So take a look, and see what Temo says, did participating in this YE paid off.
Hi Temo, can you tell us something about yourself?
Hello! I’m Temo and I’m 21 from country of Georgia. I’m studying international relations right now and for the future I would like to be ambassador in nordic countries, lecturer and political scientist.
As far as we know, „Business as EUsual“ was your first Erasmus+ experience. After some time has passed, can you tell us about your impressions?
In 2021 of September I participated in Erasmus+ project which was organized by INTERAKTIVA and held in beautiful Osijek, Croatia. I was strongly skeptical about that but my first impression swept all skepticism away. The most impact on me had their local leaders Romana and Matej. We had some quality time and conversation despite their tiredness and exhaustion.
I didn’t know what to expect from this project because it was my first time and this journey was full of pleasant surprises. I met lot of new people from all around the world and environment showed me that we weren’t too different. At the end we agreed to visit each others countries which was really meaningful to me.
At the begining of the exchange, when we've talked, you have told us that debating is one of your passions and that this is something that really helped you with your mood swings and anxiety. You also held a workshop about debating during the project, how do you feel about that?
When I found my self in there (project), I was completely alone. It was really challenging for me but this project and people there helped me to overcome anxiety, fear of small talks and public speaking too. I believe I inspired a lot of people too. I was there for everyone and everything, more than willing to help others out. I saw them coming out of there shells. I also held a session about formal debate and creating correct arguments. It was tense at the beginning but environment became comfortable and everything went well, listeners were really interested in topic and if I have a chance to do it again I would happily and gladly do so (maybe for the job). It was really important to me to share my debate experience to others because I remember how I was struggling socially and in private with myself and cure for that was debating, critical thinking, public speaking and last but not least - listening.
Dear Temo, thank you for your time and answers. At the end (or new begining), what would you like to tell to our future participants?
I can’t wait for next project by INTERAKTIVA ❣ And for the future participants - be yourself in every situation no matter what, it will pay off.
*Youth Exchange Business as EUsual was organized by NGO INTERAKTIVA, and it is financed from Erasmus+ programme - approved by Croatian Agency for mobility and EU programmes.*
